Stuck paying more while excuses pile up

It still blows my mind that console prices are actually going up five years after launch. Look at the Nintendo Switch - the thing’s practically limping toward the finish line, but instead of getting the usual price drop we used to expect at the end of a console generation, Nintendo jacks up the price. Remember when a new “slim” or “pro” model would come out and suddenly the old ones were affordable? Not anymore. Between inflation, tariffs, and the dollar losing value, it feels like everything’s getting more expensive for us, and that’s before you even factor in how Moore’s Law - the old rule that tech got cheaper and faster every couple years - is pretty much dead now. These days, old hardware just doesn’t drop in price like it used to. On top of that, energy prices are brutal. Part of it traces back to when Trump promised $750 billion in natural gas exports to Europe, even though the US was already burning through nearly all the natural gas we could produce. Now Americans see it everywhere, especially in heating bills. People keep fighting over who to blame: MAGA types blame Biden and promise it’s just a “time of adjustment” before things magically get better, but let’s be real, a lot of this economic mess kicked off under Trump with the tariffs and these trade deals. Now both sides just twist the story to fit their team, and nobody actually answers when this so-called “adjustment” is supposed to end. Honestly, I’m just tired of the endless blame game. All I see is consoles stubbornly staying expensive, hardware that never gets cheaper, and everything from games to groceries costing more, while people argue about whether this pain is “short term” or just how life is going to be from now on.
